Most of the health benefits of green tea are due to its unique brewing process. Where black tea undergoes full oxidization in the brewing process, green tea is steamed gently; due to which the natural antioxidants present in green tea are preserved in their original form.
There are a lot of people who think that green tea is only useful for people who are trying to lose weight or boost their metabolism. Although, green tea does promote fat burning, but that’s not all that it does. Here are some of the other health benefits of green tea that a few of us are unaware about:
- Traditionally, green tea can cure a lot of health related issues, such as depression, headaches and constipation. Green tea not only stimulates the blood flow inside the heart but also detoxifies the body to eliminate fatigue.
- It strengthens the oxygen providing blood vessels and therefore reduces the risk of heart related complications. People who drink green tea are less likely to experience a stroke as compared to the people who do not.
- Green tea lowers down the cholesterol levels and maintains a healthy ratio between good and bad (LDL) cholesterol.
- The main antioxidant of green tea extract, EGCG (Epigallocatechin Gallate) prevents the formation of abnormal blood clots and is useful in treating cervical, brain and prostate cancers.
- Essential bacterial enzyme gyrase, in green tea helps in getting rid of bacteria that forms plaque. Green tea also contributes towards your oral health by preventing the formation of any bacteria that causes bad breath.
- It has been found that green tea extract, EGCG, preserves the brain cells from dying and provides rescue to already damaged neurons.
- Green tea also suppresses appetite. It increases the release of CCK (Cholecystokinin); a hormone which tells the brain that the body has had adequate amount of food already.

Allergies and Depression
A new study presented at the American Psychiatric Association’s annual meeting concludes that there may be a link between those who suffer from allergies and depression. Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore studied 100 volunteers who suffered from depression. It’s not surprising that those who had allergies had increased depression during allergy season, but even those that did not suffer pollen allergy symptoms but showed immune responses in their blood also experienced increased levels of depression.
Since allergies can be a chronic illness in many people there can be little doubt that they may lead to higher levels of depression. Many people with allergies experience a lot of frustration trying to find the right solution to their allergies. There are some positives which spring does bring about for people suffering from depression, like an increase in vitamin D from increased exposure to the sun.

Natural Allergy Cures of Dr. Devi Nambudripad
Dr. Nambudripad uses a system known as NAET or Natural Allergy Elimination Techniques. NAET uses a combination of different natural allergy cures like acupuncture, nutrition, allopathy and kinesiology. There are over 9000 trained practitioners of NAET worldwide and it has been used for over 30 years, with many testimonials from patients who claim to have been cured of their allergies.
Energy Based Natural Allergy Cures
The natural allergy cures used by NAET are energy based and focus on the bodies flow of energy. NAET is said to be effective because it reprograms the body to accept the energy of the allergen. NAET treatment attempts to bring balance back to the body and restore the immune system. NAET is used on both food and non-food related allergies.
NAET uses muscle strength testing to diagnose allergies. The theory behind this is that a patients muscle will be weaker when exposed to something they are allergic to. Some minor allergies can be cured in as little as one visit according to Dr Nambudripad. NAET’s records report around 66% of patients have their allergies cured in 15-25 visits. If your interested in seeing if NAET will work as a natural allergy cure for your allergies you can search her website for a trained licensed professional near you http://naet.com . You can also view hundreds of testimonials from patients on her site.
Like most alternative medicines NAET is controversial and many in the medical community don’t believe or support the theories behind it. We hear almost on a daily basis how some prescription drugs not only do not work as the drug companies have told us but are harmful, and these are drugs that companies have spent billions developing, testing and marketing. So proving natural allergy cures work would require a large amount of money that is not available. As always its up to the consumer to do there own due diligence.

Homeopathy For Allergies
Homeopathy tries to cure conditions using very small dilutions in water or alcohol. A homeopathic practitioner looks at the whole body and will customize a treatment for each patient. The goal is to give the patient a extremely tiny amount of something that will mimic the illness and allow the bodies immune systems to develop and correct itself. You can also find many homeopathic cures in drugstores but these may not be as effective as cures custom designed for your body. Using homeopathy for allergies is a popular natural allergy remedy. Generally the treatment is done over a period of several months. The goal of homeopathy is to treat the patient not the disease.
Common Remedies
Allium cepa
Arsenicum album
Euphrasi
Ferrum phosphoricum
Gelsemium
When taking homeopathy pellets you should avoid touching them as they could become anti-doted by something that you have touched. Pellets should be placed under the tongue and allowed to dissolve slowly. Drops should also be placed under the tongue as this is the quickest way into the bloodstream. Try and take the remedy at least 1 hour before or after a meal. The body should be at rest when you take the remedy. You may have a drink after a few minutes after taking the pellets but try and avoid strong over powering drinks like coffee or alcohol. Be sure and store remedies in a cool dark place away from sunlight and any electro-magnetic frequencies.
Side effects from homeopathy are rare due to the fact that the remedies are so diluted in water. In rare cases that side effects do occur it is most commonly caused from the remedy not being diluted enough. Conventional medicine does not embrace homeopathy and so far clinical studies of had mixed results on its effectiveness.
